The Tajikistan national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup, after winning a 5-3 penalty shootout over the UAE, this Sunday evening.
Tajikistan scored the first goal in the 30th minute, with a header by Hahadat Hanunov, and the UAE team succeeded in equalizing in the fifth minute of stoppage time, with a strong header from centre-back Khalifa Al Hammadi, after a free kick played by Ali Saleh.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, and the score remained the same in extra time, before penalty kicks were resorted to, which smiled at the Tajik national team.
