The two teams played the seventh match in 24 days, with each team changing its starting lineup.

On the other hand, the injured Percy Tau, and Mvala, did not participate with Bafana Bafana.
The first half of the match witnessed some offensive attempts, but they did not pose a threat to the two goalkeepers of the two teams.
The Congolese national team was most present in attack during the second half, and after 5 minutes of returning to the field, Simon Panza, and Grady Diangana, attempted to shoot twice, but their attempts did not result in goals.
The South African players tried to leave their area, and Mayambila made an effort, but collided with the goalkeeper, Dimitri Bertaud.
In the 67th minute, Bakambo and Wessa played a new role in the Congolese attack, but without scoring any goals, and the same went for their colleague, Feston Mayele, who missed the net in front of the goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, in the last minute of the match.
After the two teams went to penalty kicks, South Africa won 6-5, putting Bafana Bafana on the podium for the first time in the African Cup of Nations since 2000, according to the Confederation of African Football website.
