Siemens Energy Company in Iraq announced today, Monday, that negotiations are continuing with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity to invest in associated gas, while announcing its intention to invest in associated gas in southern Iraq.
The company’s executive director, Muhannad Al-Saffar, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The company is working with the Iraqi government to invest in associated gas, not only for environmental purposes, but also to reduce government expenses, which are estimated at large amounts, in addition to energy security, which is an important part of The energy sector inside Iraq.
Al-Saffar added, “We are now in the process of discussions with the Ministries of Electricity and Oil for the purpose of initiating this project in the near future in southern Iraq.”
He thanked the government and the Ministry of Electricity for “working to overcome the difficulties, and we aspire for support to continue for the purpose of completing contracts and implementing them on the ground.”
