He added, “The ruling decision came against the background of the accused being arrested for taking sums of money from a number of complainants, in exchange for his promise that he could lift the seizures on the lands of the former regime’s cronies, claiming that he holds the position of Director General of the Legal Department in the Commission.”
He stated, “The court, after reviewing the evidence and evidence obtained, the formal report organized by the Commission’s team, and the statements of its legal representative who requested the complaint against the accused, found them sufficient and convincing to convict him, so it decided to sentence him in his presence to severe imprisonment, based on the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1883).”
