Today, Sunday, the Karkh Criminal Court issued a seven-year prison sentence against three convicts for the crime of impersonating a property owner residing outside the country.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Karkh Criminal Court issued a seven-year prison sentence against three convicts for the crime of impersonating the owner of the property whose ownership belongs to a member of the Christian sect, which is currently located in America, falsifying the transaction, transferring its ownership in the name of one of the defendants, and selling it to other people.”
He added, “The ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 290 and in accordance with Articles 47, 48, and 49 of the Amended Penal Code No. 111 of 1969.”
