Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Wednesday, the seizure of a yard for storing and smuggling oil derivatives and three illegal “tanker” wheels used for smuggling on both sides of the capital, Karkh and Rusafa.
The command stated in a statement received by “Al-Rasheed”, that “within the drawn-up security plan and the pursuit of outlaws and smugglers of oil derivatives, our security forces in the (second, fifth) Federal Police divisions continue to carry out search and inspection operations with the support of intelligence agencies and services, during which they were able “in two separate operations” to seize a “garage” yard for storing and smuggling oil derivatives, which contained a number of full tanks “of different sizes” and a (Hino type) wheel used in the smuggling operation and arrest its owner in the “Al-Habibiya” area east of the capital, Baghdad.”
She added, “In a related context, and through inspection and scrutiny at checkpoints, three vehicles loaded with petroleum derivatives were seized in violation of the regulations. Their “owners” were unloading the product in yards (garages) inside residential neighborhoods. The drivers of the vehicles were arrested and handed over with the seized items to the relevant authorities, on the Karkh side.”
