Valencia Club announced that its match with Granada, which was scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, in the 26th round of the Spanish League, was postponed to a later date due to a fire that left at least four dead and 14 missing in Valencia.
Valencia said in a statement on Friday that “the request to postpone the match against Granada has been accepted” with the support of its Andalusian rival, noting that all Spanish football clubs will observe a minute of silence in honor of the victims before the start of this weekend’s matches.
Valencia added, “The time and date” of holding the match will remain determined until a later date.
The second division match between Levante and Andorra, which was scheduled for Saturday evening, was also postponed.
The Spanish League explained that a minute of silence will be observed before each match in the 26th stage of the “La Liga”.
At least four people died in a fire that swept through a 14-storey residential building in Valencia yesterday, Thursday, and 14 people were still missing as of Friday.
