The Russian Interior Ministry issued a search warrant against Estonian Interior Minister Lauri Lanemets, and placed him on the wanted list and those wanted on criminal charges.
The media indicate that the minister’s name actually appeared on the list of those wanted and criminally prosecuted by the Russian Interior Ministry.
The list post read: “Lori Lanemets. Wanted under an article of the Russian Criminal Code.”
A source in the security agencies explained to a TASS correspondent that a criminal case had been opened against the Estonian minister, for his involvement in the destruction and destruction of memorials to Soviet soldiers.
On February 13, the Russian Interior Ministry placed Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas and Estonian Foreign Minister Temar Petrkop on the wanted list on criminal charges.
In September 2023, the Russian Investigative Committee accused in absentia more than 170 foreign nationals, including from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Ukraine, of involvement in acts of desecration and destruction of monuments to Soviet soldiers.
