Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, including the United States, stressing that Moscow is ready to work with any American president chosen by the people.
“I want to emphasize once again that we will work, and we will be ready to work with any American president elected by the people and who is ready to conduct an equal dialogue based on mutual respect,” Lavrov said at a press conference following a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York on Wednesday.
He added: “Let me remind you again that during the Donald Trump administration, despite the very serious sanctions, there was still a dialogue and this was useful anyway.”
Lavrov pointed out that Moscow does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, including the United States.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia does not care who wins the upcoming US presidential elections scheduled for next November and is ready to work with anyone in the White House.
