Baghdad / Nina Today, Thursday, representatives of the Sunni political forces held a meeting at the home of Representative Raad Al-Dahlaki in the capital, Baghdad, to resolve the issue of electing the new president of the House of Representatives.
A parliamentary source said, “A meeting of all representatives of the Sunni political forces was held this afternoon at the home of Representative Raad Al-Dahlaki in the capital, Baghdad, to discuss the completion of the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
He added, “The attendees stressed the need to proceed with the election of a new speaker of the House of Representatives,” calling on other political forces to “state their position on completing the Sunni eligibility, especially since the Federal Court did not issue a state order to stop the election.”
The attendees called for “setting a date soon to elect a speaker of Parliament within the coming days,” hinting at resorting to all available legal and constitutional options if this issue is not resolved.”/End 5
