The media office of the head of the State of Law Bloc said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Al-Maliki discussed with Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim the latest political and security developments in the country.”
The statement added, “Al-Maliki and Mr. Al-Hakim condemned the repeated American strikes and their violation of Iraqi sovereignty, and stressed the importance of supporting the paths of local governments and completing their formation.”
The statement pointed out that “Al-Maliki and Mr. Al-Hakim stressed the necessity of adhering to time limits for completing projects and the necessity of complementarity between the work of governors and the work of provincial councils.”
The statement concluded, “The two sides stressed the importance of stopping the war on Gaza as a prelude to restoring calm to the region.”
