Despite Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior being the favourite to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or in Paris on Monday evening, his team decided to boycott the event, given their belief that he had been snubbed for the award. Monday’s event will be the first since 2003 to feature neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo.
