North Korea has denounced in the strongest possible terms a NATO joint statement condemning alleged arms shipments from Pyongyang to its ally Russia, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported Saturday.
The agency quoted a spokesman for the Korean Foreign Ministry as saying that NATO’s announcement is “an aggressive program that incites a new Cold War and global military confrontation and requires new force and new method of action against it.”
In a joint statement on the occasion of the organization’s summit held from Tuesday to Thursday in Washington, the heads of NATO countries condemned Pyongyang, which they accused of fueling Russia’s war against Ukraine by providing direct military aid to Moscow.
