Russian Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced that President Vladimir Putin has submitted to the Council the name of Mikhail Mishustin as a candidate for prime minister.
Volodin wrote on Telegram: “President Vladimir Putin has submitted to the State Duma the name of Mikhail Mishustin as a candidate for prime minister.”
The Cabinet of Ministers, led by Mikhail Mishustin, submitted its resignation following the inauguration of President Vladimir Putin on May 7.
The Duma is expected to vote on accepting Mishustin’s nomination at its plenary session on Friday.
