The Digital Media Center confirmed today, Friday, that there are a large number of photos and videos circulating daily across various social media platforms claiming to be related to the incident of the college dean in Basra.
The center stated, in a statement received by Al-Rasheed, that “these actions are considered a form of bad use of social networking sites, as they have a negative impact on the lives of women.”
Hussein Al-Mawla, the official spokesman for the Digital Media Center DMC, explained, according to the statement, “These actions are among the acts punishable by the Iraqi Penal Code with penalties such as imprisonment, a fine, or one of the two penalties.”
The Center called on every person harmed by these acts to resort to the competent judicial authorities in order to file criminal lawsuits against the people or pages that committed this reprehensible act.
The Digital Media Center (DMC) renewed its call on all users “not to use social media platforms in order to obtain interactions at the expense of girls and their reputation.”
