Polish authorities have begun investigating the legitimacy of documents and certificates belonging to star Robert Lewandowski after they were suspected of being forged.
Lewandowski’s name appeared among the names after investigations began due to the search for documents of the Zbigniew club coach.
According to the Polish daily “Unit”, the authorities launched a major operation because of Zbigniew’s coach, so Lewandowski’s name appeared among those who obtained degrees from the private University of Lodz.
The newspaper added that the Barcelona striker is accused of fraud and deception after obtaining two degrees in education from the private University of Lodz without taking the necessary tests to obtain them.
One of the professors gave oral testimony that the player was not present for any exam held at the university, which raised doubts about the legitimacy of Lewandowski’s academic documents. A woman with an account called “Barbara Mrozinska” on the social networking platform “X” defended him, saying: Lewandowski bought his diploma from the University of Lodz. I write this with full responsibility because he passed two exams under my supervision. I learned about this incident during the interrogation to take my statement as a witness in this disgusting case.
The Polish newspaper added that Lewandowski has two other legitimate degrees without question, a bachelor’s and a master’s in physical education, which he obtained in 2017 and 2020 from the University of Warsaw after 13 years of study.
The Barcelona striker began studying in 2007, a year after he started his sporting career, which delayed his educational career a little, which prompted investigators to investigate further whether he could have had enough time to obtain two master’s degrees at the same time, when he was struggling to obtain one.
