The head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, announced today, Thursday, the allocation of 200 dunams in Bismaya for the construction of sports federations’ headquarters.

A statement by the Olympic Committee received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: “Muftin met with the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Haider Makkiya, in the presence of members of the Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee, Khalil Yassin and Harda Raouf, where the meeting resulted in the approval of the Chairman of the National Investment Commission to allocate a plot of land with an area of 200 square meters. Dunums in the city of Bismayah are distributed to the national sports federations as their official headquarters, after they had lacked this for decades prior.”
He added, “This achievement and others come within the framework of the unlimited support provided by the Olympic Committee to all national sports federations, both Olympic and non-Olympic.”
