The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, announced that NATO is planning to establish three military bases on the territory of his country through which weapons will be supplied to Ukraine.
Speaking on Hungarian Radio Kossuth on Friday, Orban said: “NATO wants to help Ukraine by carrying out the so-called NATO-Ukraine mission, and this means that NATO will coordinate arms transfers to Ukraine.”
He added: NATO will establish three large bases to supply Ukraine with weapons.
The Prime Minister of Hungary expressed concern that if these bases were established in countries bordering Ukraine, in particular Poland, Romania and Slovakia, “they would become military targets.”
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said last week that Ukraine has the right, in accordance with international law, to attack legitimate military targets in Russia to defend itself.
He said in a press conference in Sweden that these targeting would be within international law.
