The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, stressed to the US Ambassador, Elena Romanowski, the importance of ending the file of the international coalition to confront ISIS.
Mr. Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “We met this evening with the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, and discussed developments in the bilateral relationship between Baghdad and Washington, where we stressed strengthening it in a way that serves the interests of the two countries so that it is beneficial and productive for both parties.”
Mr. Al-Hakim pointed out the “importance of ending the file of the international coalition to confront ISIS,” calling for “bilateral relations between Iraq and some of the coalition countries in a way that achieves the interest and preserves sovereignty.”
He explained that “the stability currently achieved on the political, social and security levels came after great sacrifices made by Iraqis from all components,” stressing that “preserving Iraq’s stability is in the interest of the stability of the region and the world.”
On the Gaza crisis, we renewed our call for “an immediate cessation of the war and for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the genocidal war being waged against the Palestinian people in Gaza.”
