Today, Saturday, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Iraq and Iran.

Mr. Al-Hakim said, according to a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The developments in political affairs in Iraq and the region, and the relations between the two neighboring countries, were the most prominent topics that he discussed during our meeting with Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad.”
He added: “We stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries and investing in the commonalities between the two neighboring peoples. We also explained the importance of investing the days of the blessed month of Ramadan in obedience and worship and exchanging visits, especially at the holy religious shrines between the two countries.”
Mr. Al-Hakim continued: “We highlighted the importance of the current stability in Iraq and its positive impact on the entire region, and we called for strengthening this stability and turning it into permanent stability.”
He stated, “In the Gaza crisis, we stressed the ceasefire, relief for the displaced, and reconstruction of the city. We also held the international community responsible for the massacres taking place against a defenseless people, and we said that remaining silent about what is happening is implicit consent for the Israeli entity to continue with its crimes.”
