Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, Atletico Madrid’s striker, confirmed that he is close to moving to Milan, starting next season.
Reports confirmed that Milan had reached an agreement with Morata to join the Rossoneri, after paying the penalty clause in his contract with Atletico.
Morata told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: “I will undergo a medical and then yes, I will join Milan.”
He added: “I said goodbye to my teammates, Simeone, the board of directors, it is better for everyone to part ways when you are not able to give 100% of your capabilities.”
He continued: “It was necessary in the end to greet them and thank them for everything. They constantly helped me in difficult moments.”
“I won the Euros as an Atletico player,” he concluded.
Morata recently led the Spanish national team to win the European Nations Cup “Euro 2024”, for the fourth time in history.
