Several press reports revealed today, Sunday, that Lionel Messi, the star and captain of the Argentine national team, is threatened with missing the next two matches for his country.
Tango is preparing to play two matches on the international friendly agenda against El Salvador and Costa Rica on the 22nd and 26th of March, respectively.
According to the Argentine newspaper “Ole”, Messi will not be present with the national team in the next two matches, as he suffers from a muscle injury.
She explained that Messi’s priority now is to recover 100%, and not to rush his return to the field so that the injury does not worsen.
The newspaper pointed out that although there is no official confirmation from the Argentine Federation about Messi’s condition, he will not be able to play the matches between El Salvador and Costa Rica, adding that the player wants to recover to avoid any future setbacks.
The two matches this month will serve as a rehearsal for the Argentine national team, which is preparing to participate in the 2024 Copa America.
