Nederlanders met een allergie moeten in restaurants goed uitkijken wat ze bestellen. Meer dan de helft van de restaurants informeert klanten onvoldoende over allergenen die hun voedsel bevat. Op menukaarten is allergenen-informatie niet altijd te vinden, ook is informatie over allergieën niet altijd goed vastgelegd, blijkt uit onderzoek van de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA).
