Maysan Governorate announced, today, Tuesday, that it has achieved advanced completion rates in maintaining the Yugoslav bridge in the center of the city of Amara.

The Governor of Maysan, Ali Daway Lazem, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The repair and maintenance work of the Yugoslav bridge in Maysan Governorate has achieved advanced completion rates that exceeded more than 80 percent, as rehabilitation work is being conducted at an accelerated pace as this bridge constitutes one of the important bridges in the center of the city.” Al-Amarah, which connects the eastern and western Tigris, passing to Basra Governorate.
Douai added, “The work and stages of maintaining the Yugoslav Bridge, the need to carry out repairs on this bridge, and the cost of work allocated to this project were included in the governorate’s allocations for the year 2023.”
He pointed out that “the bridge was subjected to major attacks as a result of American bombing during the 2003 war.”
