Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is expected to be sidelined for “several months” with a muscle injury.
Shaw had to come off before half-time in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Luton Town and is doubtful for the match. The 28-year-old left-back was substituted at half-time in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa a week ago, with manager Erik ten Hag saying it was a precautionary move measures.

Shaw made just 15 appearances in all competitions during an injury-interrupted season, returning to action in January after a month’s absence. His latest setback – with England manager Gareth Southgate concerned about the summer’s European Championship finals in Germany – comes with his Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia Malacia is also missing, with the club opting for a shortened game in January with Sergio Reguilon joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
