
French metal giant ArcelorMittal has confirmed it will go ahead with a plan to build a new electric furnace to replace one of its coal-powered ones at its steel mill in northern France. Half of the €1.3 billion investment will come from a state-backed energy efficiency mechanism. President Emmanuel Macron toured the Dunkirk site to mark the occasion.
