EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate will be adding its library to digital movie locker, Movies Anywhere next month. The studio joins those studios already on the service, Sony, Universal, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The Movies Anywhere app and website allows consumers to keep the digital movies they purchase in one personal cloud. In the initial launch phase, 225 of Lionsgate’s most high-profile films in including Hunger Games, John Wick, The Housemaid, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, La La Land, Rambo, Dirty Dancing, Passion of the Christ, Knives Out and Quentin Tarantino movies Django Unchained, the Kill Bill franchise and Reservoir Dogs and more will be available on the service, with approximately 100 additional films added monthly throughout 2026 and early 2027. We understand that Lionsgate’s biggest post Covid movie, the near $800M global grossing Michael will be available on Movies Anywhere once that feature becomes available in the home entertainment window, its release date to be announced. The Lionsgate library counts more than 20,000 film & television titles which mint $1 billion in trailing 12-month revenues.

With the addition of Lionsgate films, Movies Anywhere’s library rises to a near 10,000 digital movies. Movies Anywhere counts 14.5 million users with an average of nearly 30 films per user in libraries. Participating digital retailers include Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Google Play/YouTube, Xfinity, Verizon Fios TV, and DIRECTV. In addition, consumers can also redeem digital codes found on eligible Blu-ray Discs and DVDs from participating studios.
