Our national handball team for juniors will play its fourth match against its Syrian counterpart at eight o’clock this evening, Sunday.
The correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that “the Lions of Mesopotamia have completed their preparations for this match and aspire to achieve a positive result after losing their previous two matches against Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.”
He added, “The match will be held in Al-Salam Hall as part of the competitions of the first Arab Championship for Cubs (Zone of the Levant and the Gulf), held in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf with the participation of the national teams of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and Syria.”
He pointed out that “the Saudi Arabia and Jordan match will precede our national team’s match, as it will be held at six o’clock in the evening,” noting that “the Lions of Mesopotamia began their journey in the tournament by defeating their Jordanian counterparts with a score of (40-28), while they lost their second match against the Bahraini team with (35-18), and lost their third match against the Saudi team with a score of (44-26) goals.”
