Today, Thursday, the Ministry of the Interior confirmed that legal measures have been taken against those who break the fast openly and those who violate the instructions regarding the holy month of Ramadan.

Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Miqdad al-Moussawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “With regard to the Ramadan plan to monitor restaurants and cafes, places have been identified for those who break their fast, provided that there are no signs of breaking the fast. Otherwise, legal measures are being taken against those who openly break their fast.”
He added, “There are oversight procedures through the operations room that was formed in the General Directorate of Organized Crime, which consists of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Agriculture, to monitor all violations related to Ramadan, and thus legal measures are taken against the violators and they are referred to the judiciary, including those who raise the prices of food.” .
The Ministry of Interior had previously announced a number of instructions for the holy month of Ramadan:
1. It is strictly prohibited to break the fast in public or announce the breakfast in public, contrary to the instructions issued by the competent official authorities, and the violator is exposed to legal liability.
2. All alcoholic beverage stores will be closed during the holy month of Ramadan, and the violator will be subject to legal liability.
3. All restaurants, cafes, and stores that serve food or drinks that are not legally approved by the competent authorities will be closed during fasting times and until breakfast time.
4. The competent authorities in our ministry are responsible for implementing this statement in coordination with the relevant ministries, official government agencies, and local governments.
5. The violator of the provisions of the law referred to in the paragraphs of this statement is subject to legal and judicial liability.
