Baghdad / Nina/ Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Thursday that “Lebanon stands with Iraq against the Iranian bombing that the Iraqi Kurdistan region was subjected to.”
Najib Mikati presented with the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bou Habib, the results of the contacts he conducted in Davos with a number of leaders of foreign and international countries, heads of government, and foreign ministers.
The Prime Minister explained the situation in southern Lebanon in light of the repeated Israeli attacks on it, in addition to the demand to stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza, according to what the National News Agency reported.
The discussion between the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs touched on the results of the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level that was held yesterday and the statement issued by the meeting.
Mikati affirmed his “absolute stand by any Arab country against any aggression against it,” adding: “We stand by Iraq against the Iranian bombing that the Kurdistan region of Iraq was subjected to.”
Earlier, Iraq submitted two complaints to the UN Security Council and the United Nations against Iran following the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s bombing of sites near Erbil in northern Iraq.
At dawn on Tuesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had targeted spy centers and anti-Iranian gatherings in the Erbil Governorate in northern Iraq with a number of ballistic missiles./End 9
