Look out the window, it’s another day of sun. Look to the multiplex, and soon it will be ‘Another Day Of Sun’. “How?” we hear you cry. Well, because modern classic movie musical La La Land is — brace yourself for suddenly feeling very old — turning 10 (!) this summer, and to celebrate the anniversary of Damien Chazelle’s love letter to Los Angeles, Lionsgate is bringing its all-singing, all-dancing spectacular about two star-crossed LA dreamers back to cinemas for a very limited time. Check out the re-release trailer below;
There you have it: La La Land, back in cinemas on 28 August. And don’t you worry, we’ve double-checked and it definitely is La La Land — you’re not going to arrive at the multiplex and suddenly find yourself met with Mahershala Ali holding Alex Hibbert on the sea’s surface (not that we’d say no to a big screen return for Barry Jenkins’ 2017 Oscars Best Picture winner Moonlight, to be fair.) So, Oscars snafu joke dispensed with, we can focus on the fact that whether you’ve been humming ‘City Of Stars’ and pining for a happy (well, happier?) ending for Emma Stone’s Mia and Ryan Gosling’s Sebastian for the last decade or you’ve yet to lose yourself Chazelle’s melodious musical vision of LA, the perfect opportunity to catch one of Empire‘s 100 best movies ever made on a massive screen is mere weeks away.
And to further whet your appetite, here’s the beautiful poster for La La Land‘s cinema re-release;

The sonorous score of Justin Hurwitz. The beautiful lyrics of Pasek and Paul. The luscious camerawork of Linus Sandgren. Stone and Gosling on career-best form. Ahh, sweet bliss! Suffice it to say, A Lovely Night awaits when La La Land comes back to cinemas on 28 August.
