Het is onderzoekers van Amsterdam UMC gelukt patiënten met een ernstige erfelijke ziekte van hun klachten af te helpen met een ‘knip’ in het dna. Alle tien behandelde patiënten uit dit internationale onderzoek leven nu zonder medicijnen. Dit resultaat biedt volgens de onderzoekers ook hoop voor toekomstige behandelingen van andere erfelijke ziekten.
