Today, Wednesday, Kirkuk University signed a joint scientific and cultural memorandum of understanding with Ataturk University in Turkey.
The university president, Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The agreement will open new horizons for developing cultural and scientific relations with international universities, and transforming scientific agreements into a real working paper on the ground,” indicating that “the agreement will contribute to the exchange of ideas and visions between universities and the exchange of available expertise.”
He added, “Kirkuk University has opened its scientific doors to its counterparts from Arab and international universities to conclude joint understandings and agreements, in addition to receiving a number of foreign students within the “Study in Iraq” program, which was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.”
For his part, the representative of the Turkish Ataturk University, Omar Komali, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “his country’s interest in establishing scientific and research cooperation relations with Iraqi universities in general and Kirkuk University in particular,” praising “the prestigious level it has reached on the map of advanced and modern universities in Iraq.”
