Johnny Wactor, best known for his role on the long-running soap opera “General Hospital,” was shot to death during a suspected robbery in Los Angeles. He is 37 years old.
His mother, Scully, first confirmed his death to TMZ. The Los Angeles Police Department later confirmed that Walkot was shot around 3 a.m. Saturday after a confrontation with three men who allegedly tried to steal catalytic converters from vehicles.
After police were called, Walker was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and has not yet been arrested. The investigation continues.
Walkett’s agent, David Shore, also confirmed Walkett’s death to Variety. “Johnny Walker was an amazing man,” Shore wrote in a statement. “Not only was he a talented actor dedicated to his career, but he was a true moral role model to all who knew him. He represented hard work, tenacity and a never-give-up attitude.
He described working with Wachter as a privilege: “He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After more than a decade together, he will forever leave a hole in our hearts.”
Walker was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1986. His first television role was on the Lifetime series Army Wives, and he went on to guest star in shows such as Westworld, The OA, and Criminal Minds.
From 2020 to 2022, Walkett appeared in more than 160 episodes of “General Hospital,” playing the character Brando Corbin.
General Hospital released a statement on Sunday: “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to learn of the untimely passing of Johnny Walker. He was truly a one-of-a-kind man and it was a joy to work with him every day. During this difficult time Our condolences and prayers go out to his loved ones at this time.
He is survived by his mother Scully and his brothers Lance and Grant.
