The Memphis Grizzlies star found a new way to commemorate the three-pointer after the NBA fined JA Morant $75,000 last week for holding a finger gesture celebration.
On Thursday night, the Grizzlies lost 141-125 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Morant imitated the dowel, threw a grenade, threw a grenade and covered his ears 3. This is Morant’s second straight match, making the grenade pose the grenade pose, unveiled in the Charlotte game in Memphis on Tuesday.
“It’s my celebration and I’ll find another one until someone else has a problem with it,” Morant said after Thursday’s shooting.
The NBA fined $75,000 on April 4, and the next day the 25-year-old imitated the gun in the Grizzlies’ victory over the Miami Heat, shooting the gun with his fingers. Prior to this game, the NBA informed Morant that he would not be punished for his April 1 gun-related gesture when playing the Golden State Warriors.
Morant finished with a team-high 36 points and shot 5 from the field behind the arc against Minnesota.

In the game against Golden State, Morant and partner Buddy Hield had a verbal dispute, including gun-related gestures. A coalition source told them sports. According to league sources, the argument on the team is that gestures are not to be violent.
Despite the warning, Morant continued to play in his next game against Miami and received a fine one day later.
Morant was a two-time All-Star, and has been suspended twice in recent seasons due to gun-related incidents.
In March 2023, the NBA sent out eight games after waving a gun on Instagram Live while at a gentleman’s club in Glendale, Colorado, and he also missed the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season as he was riding a pistol while riding on Instagram Live because he was suspended after being suspended.
Although the NBA has no rules for specific gestures, the league has previously fined players for gun-related motions. In 2017, then-Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson was fined $35,000 for gesturing to fans in a way that mimics the trigger. In 2015, then-Miami Heat Guard Gerald Green was fined $25,000 for making similar gestures.
The NBA fine for acting on the court is $100,000.
