Baghdad / Nina/ Ittihad Jeddah clinched an impressive qualification to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League, after a difficult victory over its guest, Navpakhor, Uzbekistan, with a score of 2-1, today, Thursday, at the Radiant Jewel Stadium in the second leg of the eighth final.
Navbakhor took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal scored by Karim Benzema by mistake, but the French striker created the equalizer scored by Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah in the minute (5+45).
Al-Ittihad scored the winning goal through Toma Tabatadze, a Navbakhor player, also by mistake, about 3 minutes before the end of normal time.
Navbajor ended today’s match with 10 players after Jovan Dokic was sent off in stoppage time of the second half, following a violent intervention against Saleh Al-Omari.
Al-Ittihad’s qualification came after the first leg in Uzbekistan ended in a goalless draw, last Thursday.
Al-Ittihad, which qualified from Saddam Al-Hilal and Iranian Sepahan Isfahan, is waiting to face it in the quarter-finals./End 9
