The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said Sunday that Israeli soldiers had shot at its peacekeepers from a tank near an army position in the country’s south. Israel responded that it had not intended to open fire on the peacekeepers, who it had mistaken for “suspects”.
