Hamas Political Bureau member Ghazi Hamad said that the Israeli authorities are imposing impossible conditions in the negotiations, noting that there is international pressure on Tel Aviv currently due to the worsening famine in the Gaza Strip.
The member of the Hamas Political Bureau indicated that the movement continues to negotiate for an honorable deal that guarantees a cessation of the war, the withdrawal of the occupation, reconstruction, and the return of the displaced, calling for more pressure on Israel to bring more humanitarian aid into Gaza, whether by land or sea.
Hamad added, “Israel insists on continuing the war and massacres in Gaza,” explaining that it “does not care about the prisoners or their families and insists on continuing the massacres in the Strip.”
He explained that “the Israeli occupation imposes impossible conditions in the negotiations and is not serious,” noting that “there must be a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and then withdrawal from Gaza, even if in stages.”
He stressed that “the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza is the resistance’s strongest card,” explaining that “the resistance is seeking, through several parties, to organize the distribution of humanitarian aid in northern Gaza.”
The Hamas leader pointed out that “Israel is trying to impose a different reality in the Gaza Strip as it constitutes a strategic threat to it, but it will not be able to,” stressing that “Israel cannot accomplish anything on the ground and does not find anyone to cooperate with it in Gaza.”
