The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, confirmed today, Saturday, that “no Western country has held contacts with Iraq regarding sending weapons to the Kiev regime.”
Hussein said on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which is being held in Turkey: “As far as I know, no one has contacted the Iraqi side in this regard (on the issue of sending weapons to Ukraine).”
Hussein stressed that Iraq is a sovereign state, where all decisions are made by the government and legislative bodies in Iraq.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister pointed out that his country is ready to act as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, if there is a request from Moscow and Kiev to mediate.
