The Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, the arrest of three drug dealers in possession of 40 kg of hashish in Basra.
The ministry’s spokesman, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Based on the confessions of the international drug dealers who were previously arrested, a special force from the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances moved to implement arrest and investigation orders against the fugitive drug dealers in Basra Governorate, in cooperation with the Basra Narcotics Directorate.”
He added, “The force was able to arrest three important dealers and seize 40 kilograms of hashish,” noting that “the materials were seized and the accused were arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article 27 of the Anti-Narcotics Law.”
