The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Monday, the arrest of the Director of the Contracts Department and the heads and members of two committees for committing violations in a project that cost (11) billion dinars in Dhi Qar.

A statement by the authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “the staff of the Dhi Qar Investigation Office, after conducting an investigation and investigation, arrested the director of the government contracts department in the governorate, the head and members of the referral recommendation committee, and the head and members of the resident engineer department, for the project of establishing the design and implementation of a bridge.” Ibrahim Al-Khalil and the rehabilitation of the highway in Nasiriyah in the amount of (11,530,000,000) billion dinars, following the issuance of an arrest and investigation order against them in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code, as a result of the violations committed in the implementation of the project.”
The statement added, “The report of the Financial Supervision Bureau, the report of the external audit, and the work teams detected violations in the implementation of the project that was referred to two contracting companies,” pointing out that “research and investigation are underway for seven other defendants, who are the chairman and members of the committee preparing the technical inspection and designs and members of the department.” Resident Engineer, after arrest warrants were issued against them.”
The statement continued, “In the Real Estate Registration Office in Al-Batha, three people were arrested while they were unofficially monitoring real estate ownership transactions,” noting that “real estate transactions and records were seized in the possession of the defendants, who were brought before the competent investigating judge to take the appropriate decision against them.”
