The authority stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the work team of the Investigation and Control Division in the Diyala Investigation Office was able, in coordination with the Electricity Police, to arrest five engineers and workers in the Diyala Electricity Distribution Directorate, against the background of their organizing “exit papers” for electrical materials from… One of the projects in the governorate,” noting that “the materials included giant cable pulleys, wires, poles, cups, and other materials.”
She added, “During the operation carried out based on a judicial warrant, the team was able to seize the materials that were taken out inside an orchard belonging to one of the contractors, as well as the poles and wires that the defendants intended to cut and sell in the local markets.”
She noted “organizing a proper arrest report and presenting it, along with the defendants and the criminal evidence, before the judge of the Integrity Investigation Court, which is competent to look into integrity cases in Diyala, to take legal measures against them.”
