The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Monday, the arrest of an official in the Ramadi Municipality Directorate in Anbar Governorate red-handed in receiving bribes red-handed.

The authority stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the authority’s investigation office in Anbar Governorate has formed a work team to conduct investigations and verify the validity of information received by the office indicating that the official of the collection unit in the Ramadi Municipality Directorate requested a sum of money in exchange for completing the transaction for allocating a plot of land.” It belongs to the families of the martyrs.”
She indicated, “The team, after obtaining judicial approvals, set up an elaborate ambush for the accused, which resulted in his arrest while receiving an amount of two million five hundred thousand dinars, representing the first installment of the total bribe amount amounting to (7,500,000) million dinars.”
She continued, “A formal arrest report was prepared for the operation, which was carried out based on a judicial warrant, and it was presented with the accused to the competent investigating judge, who decided to arrest him in accordance with the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983).”
