Round 4: India 9-1 (Jaiswal 6, Gill 0) Oh, Jaiswal took four balls but Robinson’s outside edge was thick and bounced before the hands of the outstretched Crawley at second slip. He then stabbed a ball down and narrowly escaped injury by bouncing off the stumps.
Third game: India 4-1 (Jaiswal 1, Gill 0) Anderson immediately got into form and clanked on the dollar, wickets collected.
wicket! Sharma c Fox b Anderson 2 (India 4-1)
The heavy-footed Sharma pushed forward, edged, and Fox collected effortlessly.
Second leg: India 1-0 (Jaswal 0, Rohit 0) Robinson had the ball for the first time in this series. He performed an old-fashioned experiment with bleach, which he placed above his head like a Belisha beacon. On target, apart from the no-ball, Rohit Sharma almost got into trouble while trying to cut the outside off man.
First leg: India 0-0 (Jaswal 0, Rohit 0) here we go! Anderson, blond and with the new ball, plays against young Jaiswal, whose average in 14 Test innings is now 71. He put his hands in the air and let Anderson’s first three balls fly safely. Swing for Jimmy, negotiate safely.
Hello, Jānas Jēruma Grīnberga
“I’ve been up for an hour or so, keeping an eye on OBO, and now watching the rosy dawn slowly creep across the Baltic sky. So excited for the day when Rooooot saves England again;” “Is he really like Crow Leigh’s claim to being “the best player we’ve ever had” is a moot point, but he’s certainly a candidate for the best England player I can remember.
How beautiful. I agree, Root is undoubtedly one of the best batsmen – at least the best in my lifetime.
Tried the kettle briefly, But I think England are happy with 350, even if they don’t squeeze all the resources out of Root.
“What Ho Tanya” Good Morning Sandy Wilson!
“At 3pm local time on a research vessel between Melbourne and Tasmania, latitude 39.6 degrees south / 143.0 degrees east longitude, with clear weather, the StarLink system is following up on the next installment in the series of cracks so far .
“Perfect time for a change, go to bed early and catch the Calcutta Cup – it couldn’t be better!
Fingers crossed”
Sounds interesting! I wish you peace and quiet.
wicket! Anderson LBW Jadeja 0 (England 353 all out)
104.5 overs: England 353 (Root 122) Wicket-wicketkeeper Jadeja took the ball again after having tea, donning a headband and sunglasses. Root struck out his first ball, a single to the fourth ball. Can Anderson make it to the end? No. Take a big step forward, hit the front pad and the ball will fall off the middle stumps. Root departed unbeaten and after an excellent first hour England lost their last three wickets in a six-run over.
Match 104: England 352-9 (Root 121, Anderson 0) “It’s great to see England going on to score in the mid-300s, but as a long-term England fan, any optimism suggesting a big scoreline just tempts fate and makes me very nervous.” Ah yes, to James King Sierra feels sorry. Root ticked one off and they had drinks!
103rd over: England 351-9 (Root 120, Anderson 0) Jadeja suddenly found a spark on the pitch and once again changed the complexities of the game.
wicket! Bashir c Patidar b Jadeja 0 (England 349-9)
Bashir’s ball was short and not so cute, he served on the second ball and deflected the catch towards point.
wicket! Robinson c Jurel b Jadeja 58 (England 348-8)
Robinson looked back on the play with some confidence, but when he dropped back and passed the ball to Jurel on his feet, it was too much. Jadeja was rewarded, but Robinson had a great inning.
Over 102: England 347-7 (Root 119, Robinson 58) There was a change in the bowling, with Kuldeep Yadav spinning early. Trouble immediately arose when Root closed in on a beautiful woman and charged at the crouching Sharma. Sharma rolled over to catch the ball, but when he stood up for air, he dropped the ball. Then reconsidered and shrugged, making a small gesture of replay. The same goes for referees. But, sure enough, replays showed the ball grazing the ground in Sharma’s hands.
“Hi, Tanya.” Good morning, Brian Withington.
“Never mind the corridor of uncertainty, what exactly is the par score on this course?!
“My various estimates yesterday were from 250 to 150, back to 250, then up, and now hovering between 350 and 500.
“Help, as a young Lennon and McCartney (think clean-shaven Stokes and McCullum) might have said (with an emphatic exclamation mark).”
Um. asked me after India batted. But 350 should be pretty good. Shouldn’t it?
Over 101: England 347-7 (Root 119, Robinson 58) England are quietly accumulating. 400 and counting the cards.
100th over: England 346-7 (Root 118, Robinson 58) The partnership of one hundred and forty-six came out and Root bowled a short ball that took him to four. It is now England’s second-highest eighth wicket partnership in India, behind Dawson and Rashid’s 108 in 2016. This is a huge stimulus for India.
“Good morning, Tanya,” hello William Vignoles!
“I find myself missing the slight hangover I felt waiting for my two-year-old to fall back asleep and into my bed – what better way to pass the time than an OBO?
“Hopefully he proves me wrong today but is it just me or does Joe Root seem to struggle to start over the next day? I have no data to provide but it feels like if he doesn’t go out for the night he rarely goes back to sleep .”
That was you and Brian Withington, William. I should know the answer to this question, but I’m afraid I don’t. But it feels right.
Round 99: England 340-7 (Root 112, Robinson 58) If I had opened my inbox earlier, I would have realized that I had been rooting on both ends for a while this morning. Vancouver’s Neil Bailey, for one, “loves the idea of Root playing on both sides of the ball now.” To be fair, though, Robinson easily outscored him this morning. This is just another single from Jadeja.
Round 98: England 340-7 (Root 112, Robinson 58) Graeme Swann pointed out in the newsletter that India were a bit lacking in energy this morning, and he was right. They stood there like it was a wet weekend, except Siraj, who came in menacingly. Two bouncers beat Robinson, who went for a swing but missed both times.
Round 97: England 336-7 (Root 110, Robinson 55) Jadeja bowled Root with a sizzler with the bat.
Round 96: England 335-7 (Root 110, Robinson 55) Things turned out differently for Siraj, who was elegantly pomaded and lost four singles.
Please remember to open my inbox – hello, hello! ——There are many people here.first Acharya Samudra:
“Indians are here and hopefully we can get a draw today. Considering Eng’s tendency to lose wickets in the morning, I don’t expect the tail end to bat for long. The performance of England’s spinners will reveal a lot on the pitch Information and what a good par score is.”
Ollie Robinson fifty!
Round 95: England 331-7 (Root 108, Robinson 53) Rohit called on Jadeja but it was Robinson who was the better performer today as he reached his maiden Test fifty with a sweep of four. In the balcony, Stokes, wearing white socks, applauded enthusiastically and Robinson smiled under his helmet. England got off to a good start but the new ball did not bring gifts to the Indian team.
Round 94: England 324-7 (Root 108, Robinson 48) Robinson square-cuts the ball, but the tip isn’t enough and the ball flies towards the ropes. Then Dipper beat him on the outside and Robinson started playing and thinking of better options. Beads of sweat broke out on Abyss’s forehead. Ah, and then there’s an ugly but effective pancake slap for four. Then four more characters were pulled in to destroy Deep.
Round 93: England 312-7 (Root 106, Robinson 36) Siraj’s third ball fizzed off the water, over the head of the towering Robinson and past the wicketkeeper’s leaping gloves for a total of four runs.
Ali Mateen has contacted us from Ranchi. “I heard Ollie Robinson on TV this morning saying he and Root had discussed using reverse ramps to improve 100mph speed… “But thought about it. “It’s going to be fun.
Round 92: England 307-7 (Root 106, Robinson 35) Deep are back after an impressive turnaround yesterday. A few more fives are needed on debut. The vigilant Root plays a teenage girl. Ah, so quick, his sixth ball was a bad ball, but Root was keeping an eye on the seventh too.
Round 91: England 306-7 (Root 106, Robinson 35) Siraj jumped up and down, knee to chin, and achieved his goal. There was no new ball yet and the old ball disappeared straight away for four as he drifted to the leg side and Robinson flicked him off his boot. In the end, two goals were scored and the Indian team won the shining red cherry. Immediate swing but no cigar.
“Good morning, Tanya,” Hello Martin Wright!
“Are you okay? How is the dog? I’m very sleepy this morning but as I’m in India and it’s a very civilized 9.15am I realize I’ve only raised my eyebrows in the company of what I think are mostly bleary-eyed winter British early risers. By this point, I’m insensitive. Anyway…old school Test cricket, eh?! Don’t you just love it? Will the Roooooot roll out a few reverse spoons in the first over this morning, To confuse us, just to keep us on our toes…?”
I wouldn’t be surprised.
If you are thinking about it, please contact us I’d love to hear from you.
I made a cup of tea and the dog was playing Use cardboard toilet roll tubes. Rohit Sharma would receive the new ball in about two minutes.
It’s time to boil the kettle Come back after five o’clock:
So many reactions to Joe Root yesterday, Here are just a few:
This is Joe Root mode that will help you win Test matches! Glue pattern. Let the rest play Buzzball.
A good start for India. Engel played well.Get ready for a great test match

and
put on tv Graeme Swann is seen crouching in front of a huge zigzag crack. It’s a process of honing the ball, he said, and you have to play it straight and not try to sweep. As a bowler, keep the stumps in play. Back in the studio, Sir Alastair mused that the Indians were not, at any rate, great scavengers.
Preface
good morning! Welcome to day two of Test Four and for the first time this series revolves around Joe Root in a good way. A sublime Test century, accompanied by low-key celebrations, his tenth against India, and his 31st, finally gave England a promising start – from 112 to 5 before lunch Chaos, to 302-7 at stumps.
The pitch, which had been heated during the morning session, calmed down as the day progressed – and Saturday’s performance will determine the course of the game. Although without Bumrah, Akash Deep has impressed on debut and a lot will depend on how quickly India can finish on Saturday morning. We will start the match promptly at 4am GMT. Please join us.
