The Ministry of Communications announced, on Thursday, an increase in the development indicators of the communications and information technology sector for the past year.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “according to the annual report issued by the International Telecommunication Union/Development Sector, the Ministry of Communications achieved a noticeable increase in the development indicators of the communications and information technology sector in Iraq for the year 2023.”
He added, “The increase was achieved by (77.7) percent compared to what was achieved in previous indicators during the past years by (61.4) percent, while the index rates reached (IDI) for the year 2023 with a value of (69.5) percent, which was approved according to population density and values in (GB).”
He pointed out that “a noticeable improvement has been recorded by Iraq, and the implications it carries for the development and advancement of Iraq among the countries of the region in indicators of the development of the communications and information technology sector.”
