Baghdad/Nina/ The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced that returnees from displacement camps in the Kurdistan region of Iraq will be included in social assistance.
During its fourth regular session, headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to include those returning from displacement in the Kurdistan Region camps after the issuance of Council of Ministers Resolution (24007) of 2024 regarding programs for social protection benefits, a full-time assistant for the disabled, and soft loans for the unemployed without disabilities. Benefits are an exception to the controls.
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, visited the camps for the displaced in the governorates of Erbil, Dohuk, and Nineveh last August, and more than 60,000 displaced persons were included in social protection benefits by the Social Protection Authority, and a complete survey of all camps was carried out by the authority’s social researchers./End 8
