The Arab and Turkmen members of the Provincial Council, who hold half of the seats in Kirkuk, announced that they would not participate in the first meeting of the Kirkuk Provincial Council until after consensus among its components.
Sawsan Abdel Wahed, a member of the Kirkuk Provincial Council and a leader in the Turkmen Front, said that Arabs and Turkmen will not participate in the session due to the lack of political understanding and agreement.
For his part, a member of the Kirkuk Provincial Council for the Arab component, Raad Saleh Al-Jubouri, said that they will not participate in the meeting due to the lack of consensus between the blocs./End
