1968 – Join the Islamic Dawa Party. The Dawa Party (officially the Islamic Dawa Party or Islamic Dawa Party), is a Shiite Islamic party with close ties to the theocratic regime in Iran.
1980 – He flees from Iraq to Iran to escape Saddam Hussein’s oppression of members of the Dawa Party.
1990-2003 – Leader of the Dawa Party branch in London.
2003 – He returns to Iraq after the fall of Hussein.
August 2003 – He becomes a member of the Iraqi Governing Council and serves as the first rotating president of the Council.
