A Hungarian rally car veered off the road and crashed into a group of spectators on Sunday, killing four people and injuring several others, police said.
The accident occurred during a match between the towns of Rabatran and Bahot near the Danube River in northwestern Hungary, Komarom-Estergom county police said in a statement.
According to the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, eight ambulances and four helicopters were dispatched to the scene. Two people, including a child, were seriously injured, while six others suffered minor injuries and were sent to hospital.
Footage on social media showed a car losing traction on a paved road and sliding towards spectators who had gathered to watch the race. After the accident, the organizers suspended the competition.
