The Director of the Social Protection Department in Holy Karbala, Hussein Jassim Tayeh, confirmed today, Wednesday, the continuation of field research to include more groups eligible for the protection salary.

Tayeh told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “there are approximately (53) thousand families in Karbala registered with the department in the governorate, and social assistance amounts will be released to them through successive meals.”
He added, “The number of those covered by protection salaries registered in the Social Protection Department in Karbala has reached (75) thousand, and the department continues to issue smart cards for salaries and is awaiting the issuance of smart cards for the ninth meal from those included through electronic submission.”
Tayeh pointed out that “families migrating to Karbala Governorate from the rest of the governorates are also included in receiving social assistance salaries, but after transferring all information related to them from their places of residence to the Social Protection Department in Karbala in a fundamental and accurate manner.”
Tayeh continued, “The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs continues to provide the food basket to those covered by it, and anyone covered by the aid salaries can obtain a complete food basket monthly through food agents in his area. As for the Ramadan basket, the department has an integrated database for the families covered and is awaiting the advent of the holy month to launch it.” .
He stated that “electronic submission for inclusion in social protection salaries has been suspended since December of the year 2022, but according to social protection directives, field monitoring of some needy groups, such as the disabled, those below the poverty line, or those with no income and the disabled, is carried out after obtaining the necessary approval from the Ministry of Labor and Affairs.” Social”.
Tayeh called for finding a suitable place for the Social Protection Department in Karbala, which is suffering from the continuous depletion of its service facilities, and the need to find a quick solution to this matter to enable it to perform its work better and provide good services to its clients, especially since the department receives hundreds of elderly and disabled people every day.
He pointed out that “the subcommittees are not supported logistically with work, in addition to the presence of a shortage of administrative, accounting, technical and engineering personnel, especially since the number of applicants for inclusion in the subsidy salaries is constantly increasing and that work in the directorate has shifted to the electronic method via computers, and this calls for an increase in the number of programmers who are suffering.” The department suffers from a severe shortage in their numbers.”
Tayeh continued, “We call on all citizens to be careful when dealing with entities that claim to have a relationship with social protection departments for fear of being blackmailed under the pretext of completing their treatment, reassuring them that all applicants will be included in protection salaries and that the department’s doors are open to them and it is fully prepared to provide assistance to them at any time.”
